Hotel IPTV HD Encoder Overall Solution

1. Solution Overview

Targeting commercialuse scenarios such as hotels, resorts, apartments and homestays, the multichannel HD encoder serves as the core headend device of the IPTV system. It efficiently converts HDMI/SDI signals output from satellite receivers, settop boxes and local playback devices into IP multicast streams. Leveraging the hotel’s existing LAN, HD TV signals are distributed to TVs in all guest rooms. No separate settop box is required for each room, which reduces hotel renovation investment and delivers a stable and smooth HD viewing experience for guests.

Scalable for smallandmediumsized hotels (dozens of guest rooms) as well as largescale resorts with thousands of guest rooms. With modular hardware for easy expansion, the solution fits both newbuild projects and legacyhotel network retrofits. As Guangzhou WSJE, we provide customized solutions tailored to the requirements of different hotel projects.

2. Industry Pain Points

1. Traditional solutions deploy one settop box per guest room, resulting in high procurement & maintenance costs and high equipment failure rates.

2. Improper bitrate configuration of encoding devices causes video stuttering, screen artifacts and high latency, leading to numerous guest complaints.

3. Poor protocol compatibility, failing to work with mainstream IPTV middleware, switches and smart TVs available on the market.

4. Difficult equipment expansion; fullsystem replacement is required when the hotel adds more guest rooms in later phases.

5. Lack of local technical commissioning support for overseas projects, making fault troubleshooting difficult when equipment malfunctions.

3. Core Hardware of the Solution: MultiChannel HD Encoder

· Chassis Specification: Standard 19inch rackmount form factor, 1U/2U for rack installation, saving cabinet space in server rooms.

· Signal Input: Multiport HDMI; optional SDI and CVBS interfaces for connection to signalsource devices including IRD satellite receivers, payTV settop boxes and DVD players.

· Video Codec: Dualmode H.265 (HEVC) / H.264 encoding. H.265 reduces bandwidth consumption by approximately 50% at identical image quality, greatly lowering bandwidth pressure on the hotel’s internal LAN.

· Output Protocols: UDPSPTS, RTP, HLS, HTTP; supports multicast / unicast output, perfectly adapted for LANbased IPTV transmission.

· Resolution: Up to 1080P@60fps HD; 4K version is optional.

· Additional Functions: OSD logo overlay, subtitle insertion, adjustable custom bitrate, WebGUI management; supports remote webbased configuration, status monitoring and fault alarm notification.

· Reliability: Industrialgrade hardware supporting 7×24hour nonstop operation, suitable for longterm continuous running in hotel server rooms.

4. System Network Architecture

· Signal Sources (Satellite Receivers / Pay-TV Set-top Boxes) → HD Encoder (converts signals into IP streams) → Core Switch → Hotel LAN → Guestroom Smart TVs / Simplified Settop Boxes

· Existing hotel network cables can be reused without recabling. Hybrid compatibility with traditional coaxial RF output is also available, which is friendly for legacyhotel renovation.
